Point of Sale
Point of sale that runs on NetSuite, not next to it
SphericalBRM Point of Sale is a browser-based register for employees. Cashiers scan items, take cash, card, gift card and on-account payments, and print or email receipts. The transaction is created as a NetSuite cash sale, sales order or invoice as it happens, against the NetSuite customer and location, so inventory and balances in NetSuite are current during the day.
- Who it's for
- Retail and counter-sales operations on NetSuite: store managers, cashiers and the finance team that reconciles them.
- The problem it removes
- A separate POS means a second product catalog, a second customer list and an integration that pushes sales into NetSuite minutes or hours later. Inventory, customer balances and end-of-day numbers are only as current as the last sync.
One supported workflow
A counter sale, start to finish
Every step below is a screen or action that ships today. Where a step depends on configuration, the requirements section says so.
- 1
Open the drawer
The cashier picks their name and enters a PIN. They open the register's cash drawer with an opening float; denomination counting can be switched on.
- 2
Ring up the sale
Scan barcodes with a USB or Bluetooth scanner, the device camera, or type a SKU. Pick a walk-in customer or look up an account to apply their price level and see open balances and holds.
- 3
Adjust the order
Apply line or header discounts, NetSuite promotions and coupon codes, choose ship vs. store pickup, and attach notes. Discount and refund limits can require a manager PIN.
- 4
Take payment
Cash with change calculation, card on a Fortis, Datacap, Windcave or 8Q terminal, gift certificate, store credit, check, or on-account terms. Split tenders and partial payments or deposits are supported.
- 5
Receipt and record
Print to a configured receipt printer or email the receipt. NetSuite holds the cash sale, customer payment and (if used) customer deposit. Nothing waits for a batch.
- 6
Close the day
The end-of-day report shows sales, payment breakdown, expected vs. counted cash and variance per register; a manager view covers every register. Drawers can auto-close at a set time.
“In8Sync and the Spherical BRM software have been a gamechanger for our Point of Sale operations. We are extremely happy with the implementation process, the integration to NetSuite, the custom development that was done on our behalf, and the overall support we've received throughout our migration process. In8Sync is a true partner and has helped transform our business process with noticeable improvements. Our employees stated that the migration to this new system was the best and easiest transition they have ever experienced!”

What it does
- Cash sale, sales order, invoice and quote in one register
- Choose the transaction type per order: pay-now cash sale, deliver-later sales order, bill-to-account invoice, or a quote that can be edited and converted later.
- Scanning and product lookup
- USB/Bluetooth scanners, device camera or manual SKU entry, with audio feedback. Catalog with categories, attribute filters, matrix/variation items, kits and per-location stock.
- Customer lookup and Customer 360
- Search any NetSuite customer, see addresses, order history, open invoices, price level and notes. Create customers and contacts at the counter.
- Payments
- Cash with rounding rules, card-present terminals, NetSuite gift certificates (sell, redeem, check balance), store credit, check, terms and card-on-file.Requires: A merchant account with a supported processor; terminal credentials are configured per location and register.
- Manager PIN override with audit log
- Require a PIN for discounts, refunds, voids and other restricted actions. Three modes: all employees, specific users, or an advanced query. Every override is logged to a NetSuite record.
- Cash drawer management
- Opening float, cash in / cash out mid-shift, denomination counts at open and close, expected vs. counted variance, auto open/close at a set time.
- Returns, exchanges and refunds
- Look up the original sale, return lines, and refund to the original card, store credit or cash. NetSuite gets a return authorization and credit memo.
- Receipts and print templates
- Receipt, refund receipt, invoice, picking ticket, label and statement templates. Print to configured printers or email receipts automatically.Requires: Printer records per location. Printer setup may need your IT team for drivers or network settings.
- End-of-day and register reports
- EOD summary with payment breakdown and cash reconciliation, printed or emailed. Register activity and payment reconciliation reports.
- Store operations screens
- Fulfill sales orders, create and receive purchase orders, create and receive transfer orders, pay invoices and log support cases from the same employee workflow.Requires: These modules are enabled per workflow; not every role needs them.
- Tax
- NetSuite native tax, SuiteTax, Avalara AvaTax or Vertex, with customer and item exemptions.
- Multi-location and multi-subsidiary
- Registers belong to locations; locations belong to subsidiaries. Each subsidiary can have its own branding, catalog, forms and payment settings. Users can switch subsidiaries.

Good to know
Limits we would rather you hear from us than discover later.
- The register needs a connection to NetSuite; there is no offline mode.
- Receipt printer and terminal models are not certified individually — supported hardware depends on your payment processor and printer type.
- Catalog and price data are cached for performance; price changes made in NetSuite appear after the cache refreshes (or a hard refresh), while transactions and balances are read live.
- Physical cash-drawer kick depends on your printer/drawer setup and is configured per site.
Questions we get asked
Is this a NetSuite integration or does it run inside NetSuite?
It is installed in your NetSuite account as a SuiteApp. The register runs in a browser and reads and writes NetSuite records through NetSuite scripts. There is no separate POS database and no sync job.
What happens to the sale in NetSuite?
A cash sale, sales order or invoice is created against the NetSuite customer and location, with a customer payment and, where configured, a customer deposit. Orders are submitted through a queue and processed by a NetSuite script; the queue status is visible in the portal.
Which card terminals can we use?
Terminals supported by your processor: Fortis, Datacap, Windcave or 8Q Payments for card-present payments. We confirm the model during scoping.
Can cashiers log in without a NetSuite login?
Yes. Employees are given portal access on their NetSuite employee record and sign in with email and password, SSO (Azure AD, Okta, OneLogin) or a PIN at the terminal.
We are on NSPOS or SCIS. Can we move?
Yes — that is a common reason people talk to us. Read our guide on options before NetSuite's POS products reach end of support.
